Dear Parents, Students, and Friends:

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share my excitement about my appointment as the new principal of Walker-Grant Middle School. Walker-Grant Middle has a reputation of excellence, and I feel very privileged to be with such a dedicated team of educational professionals who are focused on student learning, collaboration, innovation, and a true commitment to high expectations. I am committed to continue these valued traditions and practices.

My goal is to provide leadership that will produce a school culture that seeks to provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of each student. The educational program of Walker-Grant Middle School must challenge every student academically, engage them by connecting the curriculum to prior knowledge and experience, and also excite and encourage further exploration of new ideas. Parents, teachers, staff, and administration all play an important role in inspiring our children to become active learners. It is my heartfelt desire to offer opportunities for the students of Walker-Grant to obtain the skills to become productive citizens in a rapidly changing society.

Through a close and shared partnership with every parent, faculty, staff, and community partner connected with Walker-Grant Middle School, I am certain we will continue the rich history of Walker-Grant academic and cultural excellence. You can reach me by email at mwyatt@cityschools.com or by phone at 540-xxx-xxxx should you have any questions or concerns.

Respectfully,
Melanie Kay-Wyatt
Walker-Grant Middle School Principal
